Around Newfoundland under sail

The plan is to circumnavigate Newfoundland counterclockwise, July 24 to August 25, aboard John Kretschmer’s Kaufman 47Quetzal.  John and I sailed to St. John’s from Lunenburg, Nova Scotia last September.  After a turn through the Bras’dor Lakes, we crossed to St. Pierre, then up the east coast—the “Irish Coast”—of Newfoundland, a fine trip, but too short.   We fell in love with The Rock, its friendly, generous people and the magnificent scenery.  Now we’re going back with a month to spend, still too short, but then one could devote years to this, among the finest cruising grounds in the hemisphere.
